This is another case where accessibility is good for everyone! I have none of the above issues, but I find that (helpful) handouts vastly improve my ability to revisit and retain info. Academic talks pack so much in, and it helps to be able to read the claims for myself after the moment has passed.

I'm less convinced that a good metaphysics doesn't have real implications about who matters, what to do, etc. But, again, I find it hard to set my actual metaphysical beliefs aside when trying to parse out my intuitions here.

Fully agree that "who cares?" can be a reasonable response to metaphysical claims in the political realm. (Not sure if this is relevant to your point, but that claim itself can be very politically effective.) +

Okay, yeah. I do feel like there's something... inhumane... in prioritizing the metaphysics. ("Welp. Guess we need to be real assholes to this group of people! The metaphysics says so!") But I'm not sure how separable that stance is (just psychologically for me) from its metaphysical underpinnings.

Hey. Just, uh, sidling up to this conversation here. I think the thought that metaphysics "attests to all" of these different properties etc. is extremely politically useful! Isn't the kind of Asta-style "we choose what to attend to" pretty damning of the metaphysical underpinnings of terfism?
