🚨 I have another record to share - carbon dioxide (CO₂) averaged a record high of 428.2 ppm in March 2025

10 years ago March averaged about 401.7 ppm

How Israel has made trauma a weapon of war A year later, memorials to the 7 October attacks use art, virtual reality and dark tourism to stir support for limitless violence. But there is a different way to remember

In the middle of so much noise, something worth reading. Taking the time to reading. Paying attention and thinking.

While we frame the climate crisis as technological rather than political, we will persist on the search of magical solutions that distract us from the single most important and urgent need - to reduce emissions.

With Gaza in ruins and Lebanon under siege, what defence remains for Israel’s actions? | Nesrine Malik ‘Existential threat’ is a thin excuse: the out-of-control force that is pushing the Middle East to the brink is Israel itself, says Guardian columnist Nesrine Malik

If you decide to bomb everybody out of the territory you occupy and nobody with power oppose it. You do it, and simultaneously blow up the humanitarian and human rights law. But please, just don’t call this “defence”.

But as long as we effectively subsidize fossil fuels by allowing them to use the atmosphere as a waste dump we are not allowing clean energy to compete on a level playing field.

We need policy changes, not just tech breakthroughs, to meet our climate goals.

Much of Brazil's "green credentials" come from the existence of our fragile and vulnerable biomes. Climate catastrophe is not an opportunity. If the protection of people and our biomes do not come to center stage, we run the risk of being left with nothing more than disaster capitalism.
