Good question! When I started writing comics 21 years ago, I put WAAAAAY too much description in panels. I was a filmmaker and really wanted to DIRECT every scene. I've apologized to Charlie Adlard for this a few times, ha ha!

Exactly how detailed I get in descriptions now varies...

If I'm working with someone like the great @takmiyazawa.bsky.social, a brilliant storyteller whom I've worked with many times, I can be pretty spare with panel descriptions. I know Tak will just GET the emotional nuance every time; I don't have to overexplain.
