From authoritarian regimes co-opting design into symbols of nationalism, to multiple generations of artists warning/rallying against the dangers of capitalism and consumerism while promoting community and sustainability, it was a lot to take in.

I wandered into and around MUDE, Musea do Design, today, partially to get out of the Lisbon rain. It’s a lovely museum, I’d highly recommend it, but it was also an emotional experience as a reminder of how everything is inherently political, whether we choose to see it or not.

We are the universe experiencing itself, and frankly the universe needs to be experiencing more lesbian sex.
