- Most differences stem from how projects handle ambiguity & uncertainty in poor information environments.
- Auxiliary coding rules (e.g., counting "people killed" as 2 vs 10 fatalities) explain 90%+ of differences in some cases. (2/3)

Yesterday, we celebrated the @ucdp.bsky.social upcoming annual data release, scheduled for 11 June. For the 2024 datasets the team coded 37 000 events using 60 000 sources to continue providing the best possible conflict data. An amazing effort by the UCDP team!

DEMSCORE version 5.0 includes additional datasets from UCDP: The Cities and Armed Conflict Events (CACE), Deadly Electoral Conflict dataset (DECO), and the Ethnic One-Sided Violence (EOSV) Dataset.
