I'm invested in the characters (especially the current champions), I'm compelled by the storylines, I love the renewed focus on lucha libre. A recent live show I went to with friends was some of the most fun I've ever had at a live event. There were a rocky few years but it's better than ever.

Np, sorry it’s getting gnarly out there. I personally think AEW has been extremely good recently so folks are hesitant to change the formula to make room for a non workrate guy when that hasn’t felt “missing”

I just don’t think somebody being “hot” means he’ll be a good fit or help the overall product necessarily

I just can’t root for TK to take time away from the current roster to give it to a guy whose wrestling I find totally lackluster. Maybe he’ll kill it on the indies and the value proposition will change

“Monster” gimmicks require you to establish dominance in the roster to feel legitimate, and in AEW if you destroying people you had better be able to tell that story in the ring. Not just because your opponents are selling like crazy for you, but because you have a cool, distinctive style

Is it that you’re confident he can have really good matches and just hasn’t, or that you don’t think really good matches are important to win people over in AEW? Is there any evidence that he’s hot to a lot of existing AEW fans? If not, what is going to win THEM over?

If he really is capable of banger matches and just hasn’t been able to show it in WWE, it’s time to prove that on the indies, not assume it’s there sight unseen. Fans will reject him if he gets pushed over people who are noticeably better in the ring and have been there longer

He is unfortunately not up to the in-ring standard in AEW. They do have good stories and characters but their brand & competitive advantage is between the ropes, that is what they are known for, and current fans will reject somebody who they feel is lackluster and not dynamic.

Totally fishing for offers so they can be like “he turned them down because they aren’t as good”

I think the worst thing you can do with a belt is put it on a part-timer, as long as the champs are on TV and mixing it up regularly I don’t see why it would need to be eliminated. No reason why you can’t heat it up again
