Wow, in the '90's ( I know, aeons ago...) I had a friend taking economics who explained something called "time value of money" and stated that, had minimum wage kept up with inflation from the mid 1960's it would have been $40.00/hr! This was around 1995. Maybe he was full of it, dunno.

Stumbled into a huge flash-mob/ street party in SF on my way home tonight, music and joyous exuberant people in costume filled the entire intersection. Dancing, lights and so much laughter! Don't know who organized it, but it was amazing! Thank you to whoever dreamt this up.
