For real.

For real.

So, does LaGuardia not suck now, or something? Terminal B is incredible. I like it.
10.08.2025 23:47 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I mean, this seems pretty common for Google employees...
08.08.2025 12:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Looks like it takes less than 30 seconds for the like/comment to show up on the page, that's pretty awesome.
07.08.2025 01:47 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Still waiting for the good billionaires....
06.08.2025 00:01 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's a fun party game to ask a bunch of educated people "when did court-ordered desegregation legally end in North Carolina?" and then watch the horror on their faces when you tell them the answer. People who think this is all ancient history are the worst kind of willful idiot.
05.08.2025 13:29 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0They are on my "once a year" list.
03.08.2025 22:49 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0See what I mean? Follow the spending.
03.08.2025 22:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Seriously, if you read that book and the last 20 pages don't hit you like an emotional tidal wave, you might not be human.
03.08.2025 22:19 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0For a long time, I thought the Dark Tower series, especially the deaths of Eddie and Jake in the final book, was the most that words could make me *feel*.
As I get older, the voluntary death of Ralph in Insomnia resonates more. Giving up your second love and your life to protect a child? Perfect.
Only so make characters. π
03.08.2025 19:26 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Seems like that's the blueprint in tech: serve the current hype, instead of inventing the future. Pillage society and plunder labor to make someone else a billionaire so they can take over governments?
I'm lucky because I have a good job at a good company working with good people.
But damn. π
Dotcom, Converged infrastructure, HCI, IOT, Web2.0, Web3, big data, machine learning, crypto, NFTs, Blockchain, AI, models, agents...
The one thing they all have in common is they drove the hype, which justified the spending, which sent stock prices up.
I feel like there's been a conflation by institutional investors of capital spending and the health of technology companies. "If you aren't spending billions on [insert thing here] how can you be competing?"
So the cycle has become hype->spending->stock price, and they'll hype *anything*.
Nah. Especially once they made you start paying to keep them from pushing ads to your splash screen, and made loading your own ebooks something that had to be sent through their systems.

03.08.2025 02:40 β π 25 π 6 π¬ 2 π 0One of the things that I personally am going to need from anyone running for office, especially President, in the next cycle is a clearly communicated commitment to purging every one of these unqualified motherfuckers from the government on day one.
03.08.2025 01:12 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I'm just glad we've moved on from sound drivers on Linux.
02.08.2025 22:44 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0When your entire value to society is that picking *against* everything you say is a reasonable way to make money...
Wild. I still stand by my statement. π
I have an urgent message for Jim Cramer: shut the fuck up, I have local weathermen who are right with more regularity than you. How does he still have a job?
02.08.2025 18:36 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I have not seen the Sidney Sweeney ad. I don't care at all about the Sidney Sweeney ad. If you have spent more than 5 seconds thinking about the Sidney Sweeney ad, maybe go volunteer at a food bank or find something constructive to do with your life. If you are a journalist writing about it, resign.
02.08.2025 15:56 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0In my experience, one of the core tenets of the right-wing social media influencer ecosystem is identifying the people who can be blamed for all your problems, especially if they happen to be women and/or people of color.
Why does the left care to play that game at all? That's not who we are.
They move. At the speed. Of a commercial airliner. π³βοΈπ
30.07.2025 03:18 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 1...in an environment where the government is both buying portions of companies directly as well as requiring mergers to give the government veto power over business decisions in the combined company but don't say anything about politics.
Got it.
Largest merger in the US since 2006, at a 25% premium over NS stock price, that's going to require government approval, while upsetting unions and customers...
