FYI there is a massive bloat problem in the JS ecosystem introduced by ES modules adoption. Most maintainers of popular libraries ship ES module and CommonJS module versions in the same package.

In the repo I've used as an example, over half of the dependencies ship two versions of the same code.

Started this as a side project to learn Rust over a year ago... forgot about it, had other things take priority...

Used the new Kiro IDE (kiro.dev) and Claude Code to finish it off.
