Just checking my understanding: is the reason that at the onset of a covid infection you can test negative on a RAT but still infect people because the viral load needed to infect a person is much lower than the viral load needed to be detectable on a rapid?

I have to have a surgical procedure done in a few weeks and have to go under. Anyone have luck with getting surgical teams to wear respirators? I have a feeling it’ll be complicated with their protocols in wearing surgicals. Any insight/advice other than being persistent?

I didn’t go to the last one (and good thing too because it was November and everyone got sick and at least one person had covid), and I could have virtually done this one too, but I felt like I had to being the only one. But I get to use it as a free trip home to Minnesota which is nice but is even MORE anxiety because that means seeing a bunch of family members and their kids who also don’t take precautions

This new variant and surge taking off is the perfect time to gather about 20 people from all across the country, fly them in while none of them take precautions (maybe a couple mask on planes?), and spend 3 days together next week!

Made a TikTok about the latest covid variant and incoming surge and it’s taking off and there are SO many comments saying “not again” “can’t do this again” “last time covid gave me x and this time blah blah blah” and I simultaneously want to scream and pounce on this opportunity
