Excellent question. Why should we pay the carbon penalty if it isn't our gas? Probably a great argument for the Nationals.

The Senate President also not taking sh*t today, even Shoebridge copped it.

This was after a slug out by Faruqi/Whish-Wilson/Wong over Israeliโ€™s genocide in Gaza, which saw Sue Lines lash Senators repeatedly.

What happened to the bridge?
Why is that guy by themselves?
What is that strange box on the lower floor? And the strange bird next to it?

Pointless questions because they have come from other more coherent stories.

The approval of new coal and gas follows the UNFCCC โ€œSSP5 - Fossil Fueled Developmentโ€ scenario. which means *at least* 2.7ยฐC, but more likely ~4ยฐC by 2100
The governmentโ€™s NCRA has made it clear that even 2ยฐC, let alone 3ยฐC, is disastrous for our environment, society and massively expensive

Thank you for highlighting this. We need people to champion those affected by poor systems that work against the people those systems were put in place to assist. It is far too easy to let things slide.

If you sell a property resulting in surplus cash to invest, thereโ€™s no better place than the low/no-tax environment of superannuation.

Little tip: if you want to know what is wrong with Australia's tax system, just read the wealth advice column in the AFR:

"If you sell a property resulting in surplus cash to invest, thereโ€™s no better place than the low/no-tax environment of superannuation."

There's no point in our governments setting 'ambitious' emissions reduction targets if they won't actually take reducing emissions seriously.

Expanding fossil fuels and relying on bogus carbon credits is NOT taking it seriously.

If the speeds are 50mph, then it would be prudent to engineer for 100mph. Safety is about over estimating the risks.
