Yes, often exquisitely beautiful fruiting bodies - & often (even vs moths) next-level identification difficulty.
For me, with the potential downside of a mistaken ID outweighing any possible taste upside, amazing how many people blithely say ‘oh, it’s so-and-so’ and take something iffy home to eat!

Ain’t that the truth!
But I encourage members of the motherati to also enjoy complementary daytime #fungi season - it’s shaping up to be a good one!

Perhaps two more #greenhouse #tomato harvests after today’s from the hanging baskets and border toms - most of latter now removed to avoid blight.

I repeatedly placed larvae in a plant saucer weighted in a larger water-filled one in the middle of the lawn - Box-Tree Alcatraz. No interest from birds.
V glad that you may now be experiencing what may at last save our native box 🤞🏻

Artist’s bracket, sulphur tuft, velvet shank and honey fungus - latter having so far killed in my garden a victoria plum, greengage, (admittedly old) silver birch, and is busily killing a privet hedge 😠

After more book and online agonising, shaggy parosol, tawny funnel, the disparagingly-named and often unnoticed ugly milk cap, and what seems to be false death cap. Might be wrong!

Today’s only moderately ludicrous culinary project: having deliberately dessicated chestnut mushrooms in the fridge’s ‘crisper’ draw for weeks, now slicing them into an empty spice jar as a reserve when I (it happens 🙄) run out of mushrooms.
Must say, they smell great!

Ah, good. Competition-worthy, I’d speculate - and it would make a tricky jigsaw!

Plot twist!

... this is an inexcusable abrogation of corporate responsibility, and mocks MS’s claimed ‘green’ credentials. These are carefully engineered products filled with rare-earth minerals and capable of service for many years - if MS was actually interested in sustainability rather than new products.

I have two perfectly functional (2007 & 2015 vintages, with SSD replacements) Windows 10 laptops. Excellent for browsing, writing, obsessing over garden wildlife species lists, etc.
Tomorrow, in an ongoing celebration of our shallow consumerist society, Windows 10 support will be withdrawn ...
