The Sandwich Bay speciality continues to spread! Sifting through Damselflies on Worth Marshes last week produced this Dainty Damselfly, first site record! They’re going from strength to strength in Kent @marcheath.bsky.social @britishdragonflies.bsky.social

After months of monitoring Lesser Spots in the Blean complex this spring, the ultimate highlight was finding an active nest late this season!!! Since then, three chicks have successfully fledged #kentbirding #ukbirding @lesserspotnet.bsky.social @kentishplover.bsky.social

Successful trip to Kent y'day to visit 2 Lesser Spotted Woodpecker nests, our endoscope revealed 4 chicks ready to fledge, 11 m high in a dead Ash & 3 chicks snug in a dead Oak. Thanks @paulc090316.bsky.social & Jonathan for finding the nests & showing them to us - all very positive for success.

Heavy rain this morning dropped some nice birds into Pegwell Bay, flocks of Ringed Plovers were arriving before flying inland.

I had one along the East Cliff this morning (second bird this week), brilliant number on the West Cliff though nice one Keith!

Birds moving at first light over King George Park where the standout was a Hawfinch amongst 104 Redwings, 2 Fieldfare, 83 Chaffinch, 2 Brambling, 28 Meadow Pipit and 8 Magpie.
