A number of large animal puppets - two giraffes, kudu and others - move into place around the back of the London assembly building on a sunny summer morning.

In the courtyard of Somerset House in intense late afternoon sun puppeteers dressed in black sit by the now inanimate puppet animals they have spent the day operating. A crowd watches moved.

Has been the most amazing day following @theherds.bsky.social through London. Astonishing teamwork, creativity and camaraderie demonstrated by the puppeteers and a message about climate change and extinction that grew in potency through the day. 🦓🦍🦒

Who Feeds London? What really is a capacious and dynamic food culture? Where is such a culture to be found? And, if such a culture exists, who are its enemies?

The structure of the essays in “London Feeds Itself,” notes @sharanya.bsky.social, frequently locates the self as a material, political force that creates social relations.

It is unsurprising, then, that workers of food are centered at every turn.

Exeter Drama finalists have presented devised work for audiences around the city. There were shows about female codebreakers, fast fashion, women’s football, AI, the nature of art, our relationship with light, political cabaret, & toxic relationships. Quite a mix!

Save the School of Music protest. It's a very bittersweet feeling watching these incredible musicians play. This is the talent we will be losing if Cardiff University go ahead with their shortsighted plans.
