I make somewhat of an effort to avoid learning about the politics of musicians or entertainers I like because I was once really into black metal.

Why am I supposed to care about what he thinks? I can develop my own opinions.

I've just become aware of a band called Lakeview that combines pop country with (I fucking guess it's) "metal".

In South Carolina, you can expect at least 2 kids, and dogs in any given bar on a Saturday up until about 5pm.

The more I think about it, that may have been part of why around 10 years ago I started making an effort to know less about bands I like.

Lost interest in Mastodon years ago because I got tired of hearing Brent Hinds be a troll at the start of every album cycle. Seemed the guy was always complaining about something. He's been out of Mastodon over 5 months, and he's still complaining.

But everyone else was the problem? I doubt it.

I'm back in high school, going thru the motions when I realize "wait, I've already graduated, I can just leave!"

My legs are heavy, but I'm leaving, and yelling my frustrations about being fooled into staying for so long.

We get about half our groceries there, usually fruits, and vegetables. They have good dips, salsa, and snacks too. Great for shopping on the cheap. Decent beers too.

#AEWDynamite moved quickly, and let us experience so many different emotions throughout the show. The in-ring action was great, reasonable fan service, several stories moved forward, and some of it's carrying into Collision as well. Zero complaints from me. 🤼‍♂️

$30 for ESPN is batshit crazy.

Vinyl is kind of a big deal imo.

Sometimes my ego speaks up, and I get a little down about the state of things, but inevitably, I remember that I make music because I love it. I always have, and no amount of generative AI tech bro BS will change that. I won't stop making my art until they pry the guitar from my cold, dead hands.

At 36, I noticed things changing. I realized I was now "one of the OGs" in the scene, and my role would be different now. Started making peace with the idea of "never making it", and focused on my personal life.

At 44, I have 3 active music projects, all obscure. I can't stop, this is what I do.

The musician's struggle:
Wrote my first (terrible) song at 11 years old, I knew maybe 5 chords. Put out my first 2 albums at 16, had them available at the local record store. Started playing live regularly in my 20s, organizing music festivals in my 30s, and made the local paper a couple times.
