I just see AI as a self-selecting filter--an off ramp that makes it easier to sort out who has creative energy and an inclination toward effort and learning (process driven/joy-of-being-the-cause). In person, the difference is immediately identifiable and will have significant value in the future.

I'm quite interested, especially since the relationship between the two entities was behind the changes in motion picture film retail polices and this stuff currently occupies a color negative niche and price point already occupied by Kodak. Kodacolor won't change anything for me, but still...

Smart move. I should have checked the inside out. I don't think it is part of the chain. According to their site, Ralphs is owned by Kroger, and all operating locations are in California.

Nice! All the PNW people here recognize each other's locals, haha. I've walked by it a few times, but I never looked at it too hard, until this pass. I went, holy shit--is that a Ralphs? Not sure if it is a naming coincidence, or if it is actually a part of the chain from the Big Lebowski.

Like large format without the bulk!

The major rangefinder downside, having to walk around with the CPL in your pocket, pull it out, check polarization, note the filter orientation, put it on the lens, apply exposure comp... for every shot. Makes you appreciate SLRs and optical view finders, though!

Opportunities abound in the months to come, haha. Hope for smooth seas, if you're hauling out the 4x5.

Got lucky. It's worth a revisit, though, I think--under different conditions.

The crushed blue in the sky and the cloud texture really support the high contrast frozen motion in the foreground. The orange over blue also capitalizes on the interaction between complimentary colors. Awesome shot all around, definitely a wall hanger. Was it shot with a polarizer?
