Agreed. Unfortunately when comparing Rail & Bus costwise there is only one winner. I think we're very lazy in NI about how we get from A to B. It can be turned around however but there needs to be a political follow through.

The old BCDR network was very uneconomic and would have required major investment and even it wouldn't have been cost effective against bus travel. Also a lack of large towns and industrial hinterland. Most of the rail network in Ireland faded away at the same time.

A bit of a sheep gathering checking out sun rising behind the Mourne mountains from the Turf Road above Omeath, Co. Louth. A lovely memory from this day 2023.

Still very warm presently, average day temp in Sept will still be around 15 degrees. Night frosts start in Nov but rarely exceed 5 degrees below zero. Atlantic water temps keep Ireland snow free.

Summer giving way to autumn in Carlingford, County Louth. Misty clouds rolling over the hills. Everyone will miss summer but the light and colours autumn brings adds a lot of atmosphere.

This is an interesting series of claims. Just a couple of (minor, technical) points why it's wrong 😊 1/

It's Trump setting these tariffs, he doesn't seem to have taken much notice of the WF, curiously it puts NI in a slightly favourable position compared to the EU but the Americans essentially don't want our business.

IC+ carriages. I Remember travelling and later working on them as a steward. IC+ was a project that was discontinued despite amazing transformation. Lost chance. Nice to see.

I'm surprised ABBA is recognised in the US. One big audience that never took to them unlike Europe and Australia.
