A pen and ink drawing of the roots of a tree and some small hollows in it. The tree is rendered in washy watercolor and gouache purples, blues, and greens, and there's moss on the roots. Lichen moves across the trunk of the tree. There are two hollows in it, bordered by some teeth growing out of the the tree on the top and bottom of the hollows. Multicolored eyes sprout out of the left and top right of the area of the hollows, and the two are separated by a pinkish fleshy structure. There are sac-like growths coming down from the roof of the hollow, and the back walls have a cave-like system of fleshy pink holes. The larger hollow, on the left, also has a nest of three eggs. The nest appears to be made of a fluffy bright green lichen, and the eggs are a pale mottled bluegreen. The tree bark melds with portions of fleshy, intestine-like matter, and there is a large scar in the tree bark that reveals a pinkish area of guts on the right hand side of the picture. Two small indeterminate amphibians appear in the image: one is nestled underneath the roots, and the other sits in the back left of the largest hollow in the pinkish cave systems. Love the colors! How long does it take you to finish a painting?

I think line drawings are a truly wonderful method of expression. It is a way to remove as much information as possible and convert it into a few lines of information. Thinking about how to convert the information into lines is a lot of fun.
