The @acls1919.bsky.social, AHA, & @modernlanguage.bsky.social filed a motion for a preliminary injunction to enjoin the unlawful dismantling of the NEH: "Congress believed NEH to be essential to the functioning of our democracy, & the public interest would be served by honoring that determination."

Strikingly, the list also includes members of the Northrop Grumman board of directors and the Outreach and Programming Coordinator at Illinois's Russian, East European, and Eurasian Center, as if these people were all part of one big anti-Russian conspiracy. We live in a dangerous world.

I was amused that students thought I had a more interesting (and swashbuckling?) life than I really do. So it's kind of disturbing to see that the Russian foreign ministry just denounced the "Russophobia" of a bunch of historians I know and barred them from entering the country.
