When I have closed-door talks about GPA as a threshold for college admissions the biggest issue that pops up for people in power is its gender distribution across the country

I agree that it seems they would prefer you use test scores and GPAs and that's it. Of course we know, if this was actually implemented, they would still be mad because White students likely would not accepted at the rates they want.

Expected in general but especially once they did the Hopkins lawsuit about using income as a proxy for race. The fact that I never cursed someone out for talking about how we should give up on race-conscious admissions because "class is right there" is a miracle.

Oh I will talk about all levels. I just think realistically it won't be balanced the way I have done it past years. Federal higher ed policy could be an entire course (as could every other level) so I've always trimmed them heavily for this class.

I share "White Flight" with students when I want them to understand that people didn't reject public services (esp. education) because they were ineffective. They rejected them BECAUSE they were effective but benefitted all and not a select group. So, they formed private options to limit benefits.
