Maybe it's because I got Sonic Racing Crossworlds at the same time (Amazing, BTW), but World just feels so sluggish and uneventful in comparison.
There's movement I haven't learned, and maybe that'll be the spark I need, but right now I'm playing this game with the straightest of faces.

I got Mario Kart World for my birthday on Monday, and I have only one question:
When does this game start getting fun?

I want to like this game. I thought I would. It's so full of charm and whimsy and attention-to-detail, but it's all undermined by it being so boring.

I'm seeing so many people share art to celebrate Halloween and it's making me wish I had followed through on my plans to write a short Halloween story. Unfortunately, development of the main plot took priority.

I absolutely will next year, though. I make myself this promise now.

OMG, this new update is basically everything I wanted from New Horizons. Bulk crafting! Plants in storage! Multiple Islands! Crossover items!
And then the Hotel allowing you to have tourists! New amiibo villagers! Outfit Recommendations! All on your island!

And it's all free! Amazing!

Just finished Legends Z-A.

This is one of the best games on the Switch.
Great gameplay, funny dialogue, phenomenal music and an ending that manages to be both awesome and sombre as the situation calls for it.
9/10, but I cannot stress enough how close it is to that full 10. I could be persuaded.

The last mirror seemingly breaks the whole theory, since that one leads out of the Nowhere. But with Alone unable to come with him, Low yearns to return for her. As long as that's true, he's still trapped in a way. In that sense, the outside world is also a reflection of the Nowhere for him.

This is why travel is done via mirrors. Each one is a different reflection of the same place through Low's imagination. It's only by not using a mirror, by not looking at a distorted reflection, that the Spiral's true form is revealed.

The monsters are all Otto as well.
Monster Baby treating them like its playthings.
The Supervisor lashing out when she doesn't see what she wants.
The Kin forcing kids to perform again and again until they get the act that they want.
The Hypnotist and the Institute's role in all this is obvious.

The Carnevale represents how Low felt expected to 'perform' in Otto's experiments. To appease Otto, like Noone, Low was expected to recount his nightmares with increasing detail or else face his frustrations. It wasn't helping Low so, to him, it must've seemed like it was for cruel entertainment.

The Candy Factory represent the surveillance Low feared from Otto. This we can actually see in the game itself, as he hides under the bed whenever he approaches the door. Fusing it with sweets is likely a result of Otto foisting sweets implied to be sedatives before he begins his 'surveillance'.

The Necropolis represents the isolation Low experienced. It is dusty and dead, miles from civilisation. Through Chapter 4 of TSON and the basement of the Institute, it's implied that patients like Low were isolated from other children due to protocol and possibly Otto selecting his 'test subjects'.

Okay, how's this for a Little Nightmares 3 interpretation:
The Necropolis, the Candy Factory, the Carnevale, and the Institute aren't 4 distinct locations within the Spiral, but rather the same location reflected through the fusion of Low's imagination and his trauma caused by Otto at the CPI.

Oh, hey! That's me! I thought I recognised that splashtag from somewhere.

The aim was to hopefully use the extra height to jump over the Booyah Bomb, but I guess it just ended up as a panic Splashdown. 😅

Pikmin 4 randomly getting an update just over 2 years after launch.
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy. Pikmin 4 is great and the new additions seem neat. It just feels so random. Why now? Why these? Why no Switch 2 enhancements?
There might be something else Pikmin on the horizon but I can't be sure.

I got the Legends Z-A bundle with my Switch 2, and this game's pretty great. Loving it so far.

Okay, I counted and I died 16 times (roughly) in Little Nightmares 3. I recorded most of them so I kind of want to do a death thread like I did for 2.
I'm just a little conscious of just bombarding my page with posts.
I'll think on it.

Shame. But that's how Little Nightmares be.

I got semi-spoiled on the twist going in, thanks to a piece of merchandise. But I didn't expect them to kill her! Nor to WATCH HER DIE ON SCREEN!!!

I did notice a locked door right before the final boss. Maybe there's an additional ending? Maybe she lives? Maybe I can stop mourning?

I'm not disappointed, I'm just... whelmed.
And admittedly, Monster Baby and The Supervisor might be some of my least favourite Residents in the series. Supervisor ranks 11th out of 13 just beating The Lady, and MB drops right to the bottom.
They're just not present enough. There's so much downtime.

So I got to the Carnevale rollercoaster before putting LN3 down for the night and my main thoughts right now are that Supermassive understands the 'how' of a Little Nightmares game, but not the 'why'.
Maybe the ending will recontextualise stuff, but right now it feels like there's no bigger picture.

My copy of Little Nightmares 3 finally arrived today! And with my Switch 2 arriving tomorrow, it's just in time too!
Plus, I got the Survive Together Denim Jacket. It fits like a glove, and the embroidered Low and Alone holding hands is so cute!
Tomorrow, I finally descend into the Spiral. 🏹🔧

Sage would be a perfect addition now of all times. I feel like she'd play off Stone very well, and open up some wholesome and melancholy moments for the both of them.
Plus it's no secret how Stone feels about Robotnik. Raising his daughter now he's gone would be a nice follow on to that.

Ooh! I've just had a thought for Sonic Movie 4.
Robotnik died at the end of 3 and they stick with that, but Stone manages to preserve and complete his last, greatest creation. A backup plan if something should ever happen him. A program so prized it could be considered his daughter.

Literally right after posting this, I actually got sent a digital key for the game to make up for the delay.
...Which I still can't use until Thursday.
But still, it's very much appreciated. I understand it's because of one of Namco's policies, but said policy deserves appreciation nonetheless.

My copy of Little Nightmares 3 is still at customs. 😢
As long as it's here by Thursday, I guess it makes no difference. But I did get a nice jacket alongside it, and I was really looking forward to having it to tide me over.
Oh well. I suppose it makes next week full of things to look forward to.

Okay, so it WAS a test animation of sorts. But, honestly, I'm glad that there's more like this coming.
Hopefully we get a Splatoon or Luigi's Mansion short at some point.

You will get through this. It might not be pleasant while it lasts, but you will come out the other side.

I do feel like some of the more scattered complaints come from reviewers expecting something that's not LN. Of course it's linear. Of course there's instant death. Yes you are expected to stop and observe. You're playing Little Nightmares.

Guess I'll find out what I think in a week.
