Now I'm kind of curious about what Kryptonite smells like to Clark. Is it a chemical smell? A fetid stench? An acrid bloody scent? Whatever it is, Clark reacts to it viscerally.
17.02.2026 06:40 β π 6 π 1 π¬ 2 π 0Just started reading Superman Smashes the Klan, and something hit me as I got a few pages in.
I've never associated a scent with Kryptonite. Clark gets into a fight with an Atom Man and gets exposed to it, presumably for the first time, and he still could smell it on his clothing, nauseating him.
God, I want to do a fun take of the DC characters a la Superfriends. Silver Age goofiness and hijinks, Bronze Age ethos, and with a deep modern roster.
A balance of levity and action. Not quite SF or Batman: The Brave and the Bold, not quite JL Action either. Kid-friendly yet a bit mature.
Why were the Gobstoppers everlasting?
17.02.2026 08:44 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 0 π 1If you are going to play and review an old game and you don't review it by the standards of it's day, you sound like an idiot.
I feel like we're not that far off from people complaining there's no framegen in NES games.
Iβm so sick of hearing how a game is good but βit doesnβt really hold up todayβ
Like, no shit, a Model-T canβt hold up to a Jeep Wrangler either it doesnβt mean the Model-T wasnβt revolutionary at the time
βYouTuber: What was so great about Frogger? We needed to have an origin story for the frogs. Why they so good at leaping over cars? Whereβs the competitive online arena mode? Item crafting? Collectible operator skins?β
17.02.2026 14:03 β π 24 π 6 π¬ 4 π 0Iβll admit that airing a show ad nauseum all of the time is rough for a network, but it gets the ratings, which is what keeps the sponsors going.
Also, on a selfish note, the more something airs on a network, the more residuals the actors get.
Cable is broke because they keep laying off good people.
"You're the most dangerous man I've ever met, and you're wacky!"
That's an odd line from Speed Racer, but then again, aren't they all?
I don't know what's the craziest out-of-left-field show from the Tubi "cartoon era" drop.
It's either The New Adventures of Gilligan or The Dukes of Hazzard cartoon. Neither has been on TV in decades, and WB has really been ignoring the live-action version of "them Duke boys" for about a decade.
For those who donβt know, Kiff in German is a straight up slang to cannabis. So the solution is to replace the K with an L.

The first shot of the first episode of Dark Water, as seen on Fox Kids. A ringed Saturn-like planet is seen in the background of a raging sea. The sky is black with some slight red highlights.
The first shot of Pirates of Dark Water, as seen on ABC and all subsequent releases. The sky is redone to be a VERY bright orange.
And there's plenty of stuff to talk about! Not only did they completely recast a major character, they also went back and redid a lot of the animation in the revision. You can see the changes from the *very first shot* of the first episode, in fact!
16.02.2026 00:26 β π 5 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0So my plans for my return to YouTubing have changed somewhat:
I always felt I didn't get a "true" representation of Dark Water *as it aired on Fox Kids,* and with the original miniseries available to watch, it's time to change that.
And with the Dark Water's 25th anniversary later this month...
Competitive Smash Bros. is *the exact opposite* of how Nintendo intends the game to be played, and Nintendo's weird relationship with it stems entirely from that
16.02.2026 00:59 β π 19 π 6 π¬ 1 π 0What other cartoons have been airing on these channels

16.02.2026 23:52 β π 26535 π 5112 π¬ 203 π 148If cable is dying, then to survive, Nickelodeon programming will have to extend beyond cable. And this is a good start.
17.02.2026 01:14 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Speaking of linear television, one thing I do have to give modern Nickelodeon is that theyβre willing to branch out into FAST channels.
Granted, just on PlutoTV, and not the best schedules, but theyβre there. For free!
Crazy, right?
They all wanted to be their own version of Netflix, create their digital kingdom & ultimately trying to recreate the cable model with "bundles."
And now, it's probably more expensive than traditional cable to watch everything you wanted across multiple platforms.
Screwy, ain't it?
You pretty much showed off a bunch of sites and stats that proved everything I said to be correct:
- The linear cable industry is broken.
- People still watch linear cable (but far from its peak).
- Old media barons are pushing streaming
- Media companies have no idea what they're doing.
And if kids get bored with Netflix and YouTube and the like, who's to say there would even BE a cable industry, especially when many of their parents don't subscribe to linear cable?
Kids can't do anything without their parents providing that access.
A lot of kids barely know about antenna TVs.
I'm not assuming anything. I think the television market is evolving & nothing is forever.
Believe me, I'm still a huge believer in linear television. I just think the cable model itself is broken right now largely because those old media barons have put all of their resources into streaming.
It's on Nickelodeon to properly promote and plug their newer cartoons TO KIDS in places where KIDS are, and right now, they're not doing that. They also realize that KIDS aren't really watching Nick on linear television these days. They're largely watching media on other platforms like YT & Netflix.
16.02.2026 19:58 β π 16 π 6 π¬ 1 π 2As for original programming, it's not on adults to support them. Sure, adults are free to watch Nickelodeon, but by the end of the day, Nick is a children's network.
And if kids like a new show or not is up to them, not US. We can't force kids to watch them.
Nick has to make them WANT to watch.
Because they're going to where the kids are, and kids are on YouTube and Netflix.
They have their shows on Amazon Prime and Apple TV because they want people to buy those shows.
They have their shows on Paramount+ because their parent company also owns that.
Not the gotcha you think this is.
