I know it's just "wave of the future" where everyone uses their phones to do everything, but I don't. Cash always works and once the transaction is over, that's it. I hate this shit.

And like, what was wrong paying with quarters? Yeah it's a little hassle to find them, but it's not like I'm going to get additional fees or surge pricing nonsense because it's "peak clothes washing time". Or not be able to do my laundry b/c I can't find my phone or I have to wait for it to charge.

Not for nothing, but there's a bunch of senior citizens in my building. Some of them still use a landline. Maybe they have a smartphone, but I have to think that even if they do, this might be difficult to figure out.

My building replaced all the coin-operated washing machines & dryers w/ ones that have Wi-Fi & require paying with a smartphone. I know I'm old-fashioned, but this just seems like a bad idea. Like, am I going to have my account drained cause the washer got malware? What happens if the Wi-Fi drops?

The dismantling of larger newspapers and shows will further erode the public's trust and push them even deeper into listening to dingus podcasters and streamers with bad haircuts that talk out of their asses and somehow have millions of followers. Maybe that's part of the plan.

The weather is sounding more and more like a tech death song.

It's a shame we haven't gotten an Edguy/Deadguy split.

We got something like 18 inches of snow. I spent most of my day shoveling out neighbors. Help those who need it. I often say to myself "I can't do much, but I've got two hands and two legs, so I'll do what I can."

- Stuff old towels btwn screens & doors/windows
- Don't let generators run for too long, especially overnight
- Have things to keep you entertained: Books, board games, puzzles
- Get a hand crank-powered radio/light/charger
- Use HEET for your car's gas tank
- If you need help, ASK FOR HELP

- Check on your neighbors
- Check on your pets
- Double check smoke alarms/carbon monoxide detectors
- Check where local heating centers are located
- Have emergency numbers ready: Police, Fire, EMT, Gas/Electric, City Hall
- Keep ice in a cooler to prevent spoilage if power goes out for a while

Thread of helpful tips before the big
storm:

- Go grocery shopping now.
- Get yourself enough shelf-stable food for at least a week
- Get hand & feet warmers
- Check your flashlights & get extra batteries.
- Stay warm, not hot. Layers are good, but don’t overdue it because you’ll start to sweat.

I'm real, real curious to see what happens when "ICE can enter your home whenever they want" meets "Stand Your Ground" laws.
