Probably the only pandemic that first spread through rich countries before poor countries.
The existence of this report also underlines the utter insanity of the return to unrestricted air travel.

End all funding every single private employment services provider.

Salt the earth so those in change of them never get any public money ever again - run them out of the country.

Get rid of mutual obligations

Bring back the CES

Raise the fricken rate

Ain’t hard.

Floods have devalued Australian homes by $42bn. Experts say that’s the cost of ‘a changing climate’ Of the 2m flood-prone houses across the country, at least 70% have had values reduced, a new report by Climate Council and PropTrack has found

Flooding has already wiped $42B from the value of 🇦🇺 homes

Climate change isn’t a future cost. It’s here, harming our economy and our safety

We can’t keep ✅ fossil fuel projects at expense of communities & property values, and need to get serious about adaptation

Job agency companies and bosses continue to make an extraordinary amount of money from a Mutual Obligations system we now know operates unlawfully

Here's the latest example of what they're doing with that public funding. Enjoy Sarina at the Louis Vuitton resort in St Tropez 👇

Once upon a time, Aus advertising revenue stayed in Aus. It’s no longer the case, and all who relied on such revenue are struggling.
Yes, it’s annoying. It doesn’t happen if you log in to the app. And the subscription is cheaper than buying newspapers used to be. The alternative is a paywall 🤷‍♀️

The Aust Parliament Sports Club (the one that ditched David Pocock) is now formally registered as a lobby group👇🏽

Anthony Albanese is the President of the Aust Parliament Sports Club.

That means the Prime Minister of Australia is currently the president of a lobby group.

Just utterly unbelievable.

Censorship by any other name.
The National Press Club cancelled a speaker, Chris Hedges, who planned to address the mass killing of journalists in Gaza. The mainstream press didn’t report it.

Recently @amyremeikis.bsky.social reminded my of Umberto Eco's 14 points of "eternal fascism" in which "it is enough that one of them be present to allow fascism to coagulate around it".

And well , there is a sh*it load of coagulation happening.

The Albanese Labor Govt is saying that elderly Australians have to pay more for basic at home care - as spending needs to be reigned in.

But - they give over $200b of our public money to the US & UK for submarines we’ll never see.

What a betrayal #auspol
