Governor Newsom is right, there is no need to deploy the National Guard in Los Angeles. This is an effort by President Trump to escalate chaos and create a crisis. I spoke with the LA County Sheriff this morning, and he made it clear that he did not request this guard deployment. These raids have been directed towards people showing up to immigration appointments and working people. Agents have even visited elementary schools in recent weeks. This does not make us safer. Trump's cruel and inhumane actions are spreading terror deliberately. People have a right to peacefully protest, and we will work to defend that right.

It’s been 60 years that National Guard troops have been deployed without the request of a Governor or local agencies. This will not keep people safe.

Everyday people carried out the Nazi orders that killed my ancestors. What we are watching now is the same thing.

Stand up, speak out and protect your neighbors.

It disturbs me that I live in a world where I did this between the election and Trump taking the reins, and now this is being suggested more broadly.

Cuomo is functionally a Republican. Do not rank him at all on your ballot, friends.
