I don’t see Gabor’s explanation as totally distinct from the fact that social media spreads misinformation, since that spread contributes to and is facilitated by e.g. the erosion of trust in epistemic institutions, the politicization of education, etc

I was thinking: Next time I need an example for a Frege case, I am going to use Bounty is the Quicker Picker Upper. But then I started wondering if Quicker Picker Upper is a name or a description. I think it’s a name though. Could some other paper towel have been the Quicker Picker Upper?

OK here’s a possible solution to the chatgpt situation: students must turn in essays composed on an old fashioned typewriter. They could still copy an essay from chatgpt, yes, but if you have to put in that much effort anyway who would do that? And it has a certain retro aesthetic that we need now
