When it became clear that net migration was on a downward trend, the UK far right and its media pivoted to asylum seekers being the alleged problem population. Labour and the BBC did not have to follow that cynical pivot, but they did anyway.

Government to ban asylum seekers from using taxis The ban is set to come in February and any exemptions will have to be signed off by the Home Office.

Dismal framing. Every aspect of most asylum seekers’ lives is controlled & paid for by the Home Office. They can’t work, are told where to live & have no autonomy or dignity. So they aren’t *choosing* to use taxis & don’t need to be β€œbanned” from doing so. The HO just needs to get its act in order.

I think the problem is there's too much bias and a lack of objectivity in who we're cruel to, and I think we should therefore bring in neutral observers to adjudicate on the matter

I mean, if this was the standard for proscription, most of the Football League would be proscribed as terrorist organisations based on what their supporters get up to wearing their apparel.

so months after the original proscription, has anyone revealed any actually good reasons to describe anything they did as 'terrorism'? i was assured by very smart people that intel to that effect will no doubt be made available, because of course i should just trust the government on this

The whole leasehold system is massively corrupt. Whilst their service charges weren't awful, my parents' old place before moving was run by a negligent company that only deigned, after years of complaints, to do essential pointing when masonry fell in the street that could easily have killed someone

Unpasteurised and contaminated milk was also additionally historically a major vector for tuberculosis and typhoid (the latter of which killed my 20-something Sandhurst-trained great-grandfather Victor in the late 1920s, albeit probably from contaminated groundwater, not milk).
