Yep its official! I left my phd program because it was was too toxic and abusive.

Personal mantra of the week (or month):
"Be bold or go home!"

Stand up for whats right and speak out or go home and be a bystander.

I knew there was a reason to never state my academic affiliations openly. As a marginalized scientist you never know when your prejudice employer will backstab you with discrimination.

All I want is an advisor of a lab where the people know how to treat each other with decency and respect regardless of the diversity of differences we may have among us.

I need a new phd program and an advisor who understands this.

I cant think about what my advisor did to me due to his biases without having severe tremors, flashbacks, and migraines. The tremors get so severe I can't even type.

I need an advisor that knows how to respect underrepresented scientists instead of berating them everyday.

Theres many threads on the subject from the former bird site. The sky here seems to be fading. 🤔

Its that time of year again....... to start thinking about how great it would be to be a seasonal migrator to the other hemisphere for about 6 months until the cold seasons pass.

Base layers. Base layers base layers base layers.

If you can swing a wool mesh base layer, do that, but any kind of clothing/insulation that makes an air barrier between you and your clothes.

I'm cold-loving, but I'm often *too warm* wearing a wool base layer in -5f Colorado winters.

After 16hrs driving, a hike, some Dave and Busters to destress and some shopping at places that dont exist in this small town i live in, im now back and straight to playing catch up tomorrow.
