11.02.2026 20:28 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0After 2 years in #Godot, I can safely say that this is the game engine for me for the foreseeable future <3 Unity and Unreal hold their places at the top (for now), but like HOLY SMOKES Godot is lit now. And I feel like I've grown along-side it and BOY HOWDY has it gotten better!

25.06.2025 12:10 โ ๐ 1151 ๐ 278 ๐ฌ 11 ๐ 1I just made a Carrd page!
I've been meaning to do it for several months but hot damn 2024 was a year.
If any of you would like to peep my art and music work, check it out! (Instagram and Soundcloud) <3
Thank you! I will start sharing stuff soon! โก๏ธ๐
13.02.2025 06:12 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Iโm working on a twin-stick top-down shooter as my first game! Itโs been really easy to work with so far ๐
12.02.2025 22:08 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Sure thing! Itโs worth noting that this tutorial also shows how to do things like animate the Control (UI) Nodes in Godot about half way through! His explanations are really good with it! Good luck, friend!
12.02.2025 22:06 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Totally fair! Unity as a tool has my respect. It's extremely versatile and the 3D performance is the only reason I'm scared to put all of my eggs into the Godot basket... I just don't know why it never really clicked for me... Maybe I need to take a C# course so I can try it fairly this time.
12.02.2025 19:09 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Damn, you're right... ๐ I guess it's finally time to delete Godot ๐ฉ Farewell my beloved ๐ซถ I will deeply miss the 700 hours I've spent enjoying not having to code literally every single aspect of game development from scratch in C++ ๐ญ {jk(๐);}
12.02.2025 18:35 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0NOT SPONSORED* This tutorial was extremely helpful in learning Godot 4 and getting used to how it works best. I know it's not free, but this was instrumental in getting me to a point where I can create intricate systems in Godot! It goes on sale often like it is now

I still have to learn C++, so I'm not really there yet... I'm kinda only used to Python which makes GDScript super good to use for me ~ I want to be somewhat fluent in C# and C++ eventually, it's just not critical atm
12.02.2025 16:58 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Trying to learn Unity was a hassle for me, if I'm being real. I know it's technically more powerful and has more industry adoption, but Godot is so much more fun to use imo.
What kind of games are you trying to make??
I agree! And the fact that if the engine ever gets taken down by it's own team, there will be a few forks that will take the project onwards in some form or fashion... That's obviously not ideal, but it's good to know that it will always be around in some way, improving in various ways. That's DOPE
12.02.2025 16:41 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I didn't even know Godot existed! Godot is so flexible it's not even funny - and there are no royalties if you use it... With the way things are in the games industry right now, it's FOSS for the win. AND it runs native and stable on Linux, Android/Quest, too! THAT ALONE is a reason to learn it, imo
11.02.2025 18:09 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0This looks INCREDIBLE! Awesome work on the environment and level pacing!
11.02.2025 17:53 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Exactly!!! I always try to be. I usually take the time to learn 2 or 3 different options for the task so that I'm not stuck or beholden to any company or software. A lot of people make that mistake and get blindsided when corporate interests ruin their reputation and pricing *cough* adobe *cough*
11.02.2025 16:52 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0And who knows, maybe in the future I'll take more time to learn Unity6+ and might feel that Godot wasn't a good fit after all...
But as of right now, my plan is to try and learn both (eventually) and just make the best decision for the projects at hand.
Godot 4 has been a fantastic engine for me! It clicked for me in ways Unity didn't. I love the node structure, and I can actually pull off the advanced functionality that I dream up. The only downside to Godot is its 3D Renderer. If that get's improved, I won't have a big enough reason to use both.
11.02.2025 16:45 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I was JUST starting to get the gist of Unity when they tried self-destructing with the Runtime Fee. I felt like I was wasting my time by using it since they could go out of business and I could simply lose access to it... That's what made me reconsider my options and eventually choose Godot 4...
11.02.2025 16:40 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I'll never rule out using any engine eventually, but Unreal Engine never really made sense for me to learn. I'm still getting started and I don't believe UE is that great for entry-level anything. It also has a default game-feel that I don't really love... That's just my opinion, graphics aside...
11.02.2025 16:30 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Catch me losing sleep while trying to decide which game engine I should put more energy into long-term
