Could also be physics (twice as many "frames" for her to be put into the falling state before landing) and then we have the really odd situation where this could still happen on PC locked to 30fps but probably not on Xbox Series S/X at 60fps, though presumably it would again on PS5. 🤔

I played through DS Remastered on PC this past week. Something I rarely take online because it's basically always modded to run debug.

But I unmodded to play online and saw 2 Vagrants, including a Good one! Yet there were zero Resonance Signs. 😭

Chances are they throttled it by a factor in the hundreds just due to how many more players one is connected to compared to PtDE's limit of 20.
PtDE was heavily favoring connections in your location though. Remastered isn't. Might receive a similar amount of signs but don't get to see most of them.

Okay, one more guess: It reads the sound stuff in the anibnd, but they didn't properly untangle logic from frame rate for this in DSR. So it reads what's essentially 30hz information at 60hz, ultimately treating every (animation-attached) sound to be playing only half as long as it is in PtDE.

Alternative alternative theory: They didn't change the format for most sound, but for music. Thus they updated file length code to loop the music properly, not noticing that it's also used for stuff like this, where it's now failing to calculate the length of the original PCM/WAV files correctly.

Alternative theory: It is supposed to calculate the length of the audio file and add that to the timer when setting it, but the calculation comes back as 0 in DSR because they switched from PCM/WAV to some compressed format and didn't update the code for it. 🙃

Attention timer in DSR only gets set once when the sound starts and then counts down whereas originally it got set every frame a sound was playing, effectively only counting down once the sound stopped.
That's my guess for this behavior, but I don't know how that system works internally... 🤷
