this has always been my view... it's more physically-grounded, embodied than anything abstract like genre; once you've made enough music, you can't hide your muscle memory and ear tendencies, and even if you try to subvert them something "uniquely you" will show thru, and people *will* hear it

both exist apparently, sōtai is the more "sciency" (probably more sinitic compound-appropriate) meaning "relative, relativity" opposed to 絶対... e.g. perfect pitch/absolute pitch 絶対音感 relative pitch 相対音感

could Korean Hangul be a better choice? each syllable block (consonant + vowel + consonant) has a codepoint (there are 11k+), readable and typable by sight and sound, sufficient even after removing syllables that are homophones or not read-as-spelled. easy for non-Korean speakers to learn too...
