Moving office next week and the first thing the managing principal does is slap a “mandatory celebration” at 8:30a next Monday in the new cafe space when all of us won’t even know where the bathroom is yet is diabolical…can we get A MINUTE!? The introvert in me is dying inside.

Technically, they were still brawling. Zack made a silly little movement, nothing serious. Just a gentle swipe at Aerith, to continue the illusion that they were sparring while he asked her out. A pathetic, embarrassing move if they were actually in a match. Aerith blocked it gracefully, with such force that the sound echoed all throughout the gymnasium. THWACK. It felt good. Empowering. Aerith found herself closing her eyes. Zack Fair's handsome face disappeared. The staff was light as a feather as she swooped it upwards, following the irresistible flow of energy and - THWACK. Another sound followed that also echoed loudly. This time, as Aerith's staff collided with the side of Zack Fair's head. It really did sound like it might be hollow in there, Aerith thought, in a bit of a daze as Zack's blue eyes closed and he crumpled to the ground at her feet. At the same time, Aerith heard footsteps entering the gymnasium. There was a loud sound of dismay. Oh god, I killed him. That was the first, panicked thought as Aerith looked at the lump of black hair, muscles, and school uniform before her. Then, I'm so getting expelled, as the footsteps came closer. A tiny, sly voice in the back of her mind came through insistently. So, it said, Miss Big Bad Aerith... would you have said yes or no to that date? "Oh, oh no. Oh, Aerith, what did you do? I should go get the school nurse, shouldn't I? Cloud, do you think he's okay? Is he hurt badly? Oh no. See, Cloud? Do you see how dangerous brawling can be?"
