Eliminating phone services would force more people to visit SSA offices, leading to overcrowding and longer wait times, especially for those with mobility or transportation challenges. This change would impact vulnerable seniors, making it difficult for them to access the support they depend on.

Without phone support, resolving payment issues, verifying official communications, and addressing urgent concerns would be much harder, increasing financial hardship and fraud risks.

Elon Musk is pushing to end phone services at Social Security, which 73 million retired and disabled Americans rely on to apply for and access their earned government benefits.
