Wrapping trains in flags is easier than actually fixing the railway 😔

You can decorate trains with all the flags you want. If the experience is still this bad people won't switch from driving.

Same problem with Bee Network. Very few bus priority packages have been delivered but oooh shiny baby vomit yellow buses everywhere must mean success right?

It's too early for the Christmas rush isn't it? But from what I've seen the rail network seemed chaotic today

Just finished writing a feature about #HS2 "Interchange". I'm hoping the relative simplicity of the station will mean it can be delivered quickly. There's really not much to see at the minute, although a significant amount of work around the station has and is taking place.

Class 507 001 running under its own power on the Derby test track

It was fantastic to be able to ride on 507 001 again yesterday. It's a real testament to the hard work put in by the @class507.org.uk volunteers who've got managed to get it in working order and looking immaculate again.

I'd put XC in with TPE, which I think should have a regional sub brand.

I'd say we need IC, Regional (TPE, XC) and something similar to the PTEs, which we've already got anyway. Although there will be local rail services which aren't covered by any 1 city region.

I hope so. There are so many ways red white and blue could be incorporated into a livery. Without looking like a pound shop TPE livery. I also wish they'd drop the insistence on daubing "Great British Railways" on trains and just stick to GBR

I'm afraid this livery seems more about vanity than it does about the needs of the passenger. No, I don't support the idea of returning to BR blue or Regional Railways liveries, but we should be able to come up with a modern equivalent that won't age like milk.

In all seriousness, ignoring the crass flag waving. Liveries should never be about politics, they should be elegant and should stand the test of time. But more importantly they should differentiate the different types of service (local/regional/IC) in a simple way for passengers. 1/2

This doesn't shout 'this is an intercity service'. This doesn't seem to be about creating timeless unified branding and more about flag waving triumphalism

One and only time in 1st class on an XC service was because some arrogant so and so wouldn't allow us to sit in our reserved seats.

This is only me scratching the surface of my XC opinions!
