The Slavic term for forced labor (robota) described peasant workers in feudal times and has existed for centuries. It was first applied to worker machines in a 1920 play titled "R.U.R." by Czech writer Karel Capek.

I just played this with my social studies department instead of the meeting we were told to do by the school district. So much more productive.
