The real story here is that itโ€™s a small vocal minority wanting separation. Oh! But that would be so boring and not good for clicks. Fear and divide sells better.

Itโ€™s time to ignore what the orange man says and stop spreading his postings for likes, comments, hits. This is his mode of operation and it will only diminish when the world ignores his hateful and vile messages.

What %of Albertans are separatists? From an article I read recently itโ€™s a very small minority. Yes or No?

I like European films or films from film festivals. Either their catalogue is small or they are not prioritizing. Joined one month ago and most likely will cancel in March.

Canadaโ€™s Conservatives Give Their Trump-Inspired Leader a Second Chance

Check out the NYT headline. I posted this as a guest article, hope it can be read by all.

Concept of community. Strong women nurturing and healing each other and their families. Itโ€™s the small acts of kindness that count. Itโ€™s being humble enough to ask for support.

Itโ€™s about consistency and short and frequent daily training in all environments for 18 months. I had a dog curious and energetic . My neighbours doubted that she could be trained. From age two to ten, she was a therapy visiting dog. Gone 20 years, memories of her antics makes me smile daily.

Letโ€™s call it what it is: child abuse by the Trump administration.

Available in many towns across North America. I could be out every night. What social media and online platforms have done is remove community. People think that posting is community and has impact. Social media used to gather for change and community has impact. Individual comments have no impact.

Cancelled Amazon, buy locally, attended movies and concerts, free concerts and events, art gallery openings, Christmas festivals. Met old friends and made new ones, learned , expanded my network. Thatโ€™s community. Looking forward to winter festival in February! Donated money saved to food bank.

They have few journalists on the ground, relying on Canada Press for real stories. Most are opinion pieces spreading fear and discord. Often their opinion writers are paid hacks from the conservative government, or publicists representing right wing or foreign entities. Itโ€™s so easy to spot.

The same type of right wing fake religious types that surround Trump surrounds him. The bigger the cross around their necks, the crueler they get. This is not the Conservative Party of 10 years ago.

Although I agree with Kate about PP, a strong government needs a strong and intelligent opposition for balance. The purpose of the opposition is to review legislation and propose changes without divisive language. The current conservative leadership is unable to fulfill this function.

26.01.2026 18:08 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 3    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Further thinking about this. The food banks have the supply chains. They are nearing capacity in supplying to the needy. Many would not need the food bank if prices didnโ€™t reflect so many markups in the supply chain from producer to consumer. Food banks could be mentors for a start-up co-op.

26.01.2026 16:14 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

A food cooperative would solve the superstore issue. If the chains own the wholesalers, itโ€™s back to square one until direct lines to producers could be established. Rather than a real store, perhaps a model where once a week individual food orders are delivered to a community hub for pickup.
