I'm glad! I've spent a lot of time with this sort of stuff being close to my heart, and sometimes it's just fun to kinda... Try to put it all into words.

Oh, one little addition to this: Another way I've thought about this in the past is "Symbol based kinks". Inflation often comes with a 'bigger' desire that doesn't categorize elsewhere, that isn't satisfied even after all other aspects are.

This sort of thing is fascinating to me. And all of it is specifically my own interpretation of really complex, nuanced signals from the people around me. But it's worked well as an analysis tool for my own kinks and how I relate to others.

I invite you to try looking at your preferred kinks, and seeing how each of these might apply, then try to look at a piece of art of the same kink that didn't hit, and see if different ones apply. You might be surprised by what you find! I also encourage trying to find new categories!

All of these shift over time, as communities change, as new works enter our understanding, as specific target points are identified that hit these spots just right for a large swathe of people, and as we grow as individuals and our circumstances change.

Conceptual Aesthetic kinks, a fairly broad category that refers to the aesthetic of a situation. This can be a specific type of roleplay, such as the aesthetic of 'blueberry', and are often deeply connected to a community and resonant creative work. These often shift over time to fit specific needs.

Taboo Kinks, all about breaking societal rules. Contrasted against release kinks, these are often about risk and adrenaline, about knowing something is wrong and indulging in the fantasy anyways. Provided 'indulging' is still, itself, fantasy, this is just as harmless as the rest.

Release kinks, all about breaking personal rules. Whether you are feeling trapped due to early-taught lessons, you have a fear of being perceived a certain way, or you simply wonder what it's like to not be constrained, these explore being unbound, embracing something you normally wouldn't.

Transformational kinks, to change your relationship to your body. Whether through gender dysphoria, being therian, having insecurities about a body feature, desire for the new, or an extension of preferred aesthetics. Primarily about the self definitional elements of how you relate to your body

Role kinks, in contrast, are about the role you are viewed you as belonging to. This can be somewhat slippery to define, but often has to do with expectations for your performance. Pet play is a common outlet for this sort of kink. It is the intersection between external and internal definition

Sociological kinks, to be perceived by amorphous groups in a specific way. Often this involves some degree of humiliation, but can also involve empowerment, vulnerability in a more generalized sense, or simply being seen as desirable to a crowd. The amorphous group, however, is important.

Trust and fear based kinks are primarily differentiated based on how one engages. A fear kink is often about something terrible happening, using a degree of pretend to explore it. While Trust kinks are often more about literally being in a compromised state and doing something fun within it.

Fear kinks, all about being involved in specific frightening situations. The fear of being exploited in some capacity. Like trust based kinks, these involve extreme situations to bypass the fears. Unlike trust kinks, the trust lies on the outside of play, for the boundaries of fiction to be clear.

Trust based kinks, often invoking a compromised situation such as bondage, an agreed upon relationship like dom/sub, or a caretaker style situation. The amplified situation allows for the fear of intimacy and trust to be bypassed in an exciting way, furthering the intimacy.

Aesthetic kinks, an attraction to a specific body part, such as feet, genitalia, breasts, armpits... Or specific body types/gender expressions. Sensation kinks, to covet a specific physical sensation, such as pain, a scent, or texture. This can extend further down into other, deeper kinks.

First up, our baseline kinks. These I am convinced everyone has to some extent (unless they're asexual, which means it's a tossup and could go either way), and are more just... the different ways that a brain forms preferences. Aesthetic and Sensation

My way of breaking it down is less to do with the specific aesthetics of the kink (though that can be a factor), and more to do with the ultimate goal behind it. To that end, a lot of kinks draw from 2 or 3 of my categories, depending on the person.

This is because a kink is made up of multiple pieces, some combination of personal history, comfort, genetics, exposure, and deeply personal emotional connections. A 'fat' kink may involve someone getting as big as a planet, or being teased for eating a lot, being messy, or any combo thereof.

I'm always fascinated by the psychology of sexuality. I've come to this sort of categorization that has helped me understand where people are coming from, individually. You may have noticed that your kink has a multitude of different expressions out there, including ones that make you uncomfortable.

The support structure shuffle. There aren't enough pieces to hold everything up. And it feels like there's too many pieces to find a place. But every once in a while, when you let your eyes rest, you can see a glimmer of the perfect shape in the motion.

No matter how many pieces it's broken apart into, you can always put it back together. The seams, too, can be just as beautiful as the shape.

Warmed by the dark sun stone, you feel the ache in your soul grow distant. It reminds you that there is still warmth to be found in dark places. Keep going.

The more I think about it... The issue is that people in high positions in power are constantly treating people as objects to be used. They treat thinking, feeling people as tools, or raw material, for whatever fantasy they have. No matter what you desire, you can't reduce people to objects.

It is also interesting having a batch of butterscotch to compare to the caramel, because the two are certainly similar, but also entirely different. I can see why they might be confused for one another, the bitterness of toasted milk solids could be mistaken for the bitterness of molasses.

The milk powder must be fully powderized. I have been using a mortar and pestle and the results are somewhat slow, as it must be done in small batches, but heavily effective. That said, any clumps whatsoever retain a 'crunchiness' as one of my tasters (mom, lol) pointed out. The flavor, however, A+.
