…but the belief that this is something other pup parents can do on the reg is so crazy.

My pets are my life and while I agree that preventative care is amazing, most dog owners can’t afford to pay anywhere from $300-700 on a yearly basis for a preventative ultrasound. Like I’m glad he could and that this ability added years to his dog’s life…

It’s not that I couldn’t afford proper care for my pets - I paid for proper flea, tick, & heart worm meds for 2-3 dogs and proper flea & tick prevention for up to 4 cats at a time for yrs. My other dog at the time had epilepsy and that meant $40-ish in meds/month and annual blood tests

because I took my dog to the vet anytime something seemed even slightly off, & did a lot of tests! but they never even suggested an ultrasound until she collapsed, & even if I had thought about “preventative” ultrasounds on a regular basis there’s no WAY I could have afforded them.

I follow a local dog influencer on Instagram & the dog that made him “famous” recently had the same health issue that my heart dog Wendy had. he keeps talking about how everyone should do preventative blood tests & ultrasounds before anything even seems wrong and it makes me so frustrated.

Drumpf and the current version of the Republican Party have never done anything that helps a single person I know…even those I know who support them (🤮) …they’ve done plenty (especially recently) to harm many of my loved ones, though (and yeah that also includes ppl I know who support them 🙃)

Aaanywayyyy… Mostly I want to know if anyone outside of Camp Monadnock has ever heard of Annihilation as I’ve described it, or even anything similar, lol (10/10, end of story time)

Looking back, I have to wonder whether this game was just a way for them to get us church camp kids to to channel our sexual (or other…?) frustrations. Not sure how well that worked with how many people were sneaking off to make out, but whatever, I loved Annihilation. (9/10)

And again as the summer 2000 champs: (8/10)

And let me tell you, I was ACE at this game (being tall + strong from working on a horse farm helped for sure)…For real, I went to that camp and played this game every summer from 1996 or ‘97-2000 and my team won EVERY. YEAR. Here’s a pic of us as the summer 1999 champs: (7/10)

The main and practically ONLY rule was that you had to play on your hands and knees. Mainly, your knees were not supposed to leave the ground. Tackling, grabbing, and general rough housing weren’t just allowed - they were ENCOURAGED. (6/10)

You earned points by getting your Crisco-coated volleyball into the other team’s bucket. (5/10)

The ball was - get this - a Crisco-coated volleyball. (4/10)
