25.10.2025 23:57 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Again, the person who attacked him seems to be a fan of Trump and not even remotely βliberalβ by all accounts, but his entire identity seems wrapped up in being a victim to βthe violent leftβ at this point so heβs just going to try and post through it.
25.10.2025 23:52 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Tl;dr two Trumpy guys show up at this past No Kings Rally, one from Peabody dressed in an inflatable Trump costume with an American flag on a metal pole, the other from Lynn and they end up fighting each other for reasons in dispute.

His Facebook profile is publicly viewable and contains pro Trump and conservative themed posts well prior to the event in question.
23.10.2025 13:04 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Because this story is making the rounds and because people are trying to pin this on the No Kings attendeesβ¦ it is pretty easy to find the man who attacked the other man in the inflatable trump outfit on social media. He appears to also be a Trump supporter.

Easy rule of thumb. If they use a laugh emoji reaction to a sincere post, you block.

The great thing about local Facebook group posts casually posting something like a picture or video of the No Kings rally today in Swampscott is that it gives you a good block list in that group to make your online experience better.

18.10.2025 14:33 β π 13 π 5 π¬ 0 π 1One can try and change hearts and minds through gentle persuasion and civil conversation all they want, but policy is what will actually move the needle. We need politicians and future politicians that want to work towards eliminating racism and not wield it in a personal quest for power.
15.10.2025 00:21 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This is why it is especially important to point out when the political party in power has fused racism and antisemitism into every aspect of its purpose.
15.10.2025 00:21 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Racism is a political policy choice. This is why those here on the North Shore of MA who descended from Irish and Italian immigrants do not find themselves oppressed despite historic discrimination.

In the βdebate me, broβ culture, there is no engaging with the βmarketplace of ideasβ in good faith. It is simply to mock it.
18.09.2025 17:11 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Itβs worth a reminder that what bigoted social media influencers and their followers call βdebateβ is really just a way to create, often highly edited, hate-based content for like-minded viewers. We have had this show up in our history here in Swampscott.

Screenshot of a comment: Ed Stairman βThat is the stupidest thing I saw today! Kirk encourages violence by debating ?β
Screenshot of a comment: Jack Buba βAlso, Charlie called out Fake Organizations like youra for keeping minorities as second classs citizens. He was leading minorities out of perpetual poverty and illiteracy. This goes to the heart of your very existence as you traffic in the underclass to self aggrandize your life and lifestyle choices. WOKE IS DEAD THE COUNTRY VOTED AND TURNED AGAINST IT.β
Always easy to bring out the people who follow your FB page just to be outraged by what you post every once in awhile.
11.09.2025 17:54 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Violent events are always tragic, but maybe our local governments shouldnβt put our flags to half mast for a victim of it who often encouraged violence and had no redeeming qualities.

Save democracy. Legalize multi-family housing in your neighborhood today.
08.09.2025 12:49 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0If you want more people to have full civil rights including things like access to abortion, you need to allow for more people to move to states like Massachusetts.
08.09.2025 12:49 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0But letβs not forget that the number of representatives each state has in congress is determined by how many residents each state has. Therefore, if you want your political views to have a bigger representation in Congress than states that vote a different way, you need to grow your population.
08.09.2025 12:49 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Unfortunately, many people, including people who generally vote for Democrats tend to set those issues aside when it comes to housing because they would rather keep their neighborhoods or sometimes parts of town they simply just drive through occasionally the same as when they moved in.

β¦into neighborhoods that pride themselves on being comprised of almost universally single-family homes including racial justice, climate change, and affordability.
08.09.2025 12:49 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0There are many reasons to change zoning laws to make it legal to βchange a neighborhoodβs characterβ by allowing such character changing structures as 4-plexes, and 8 unit buildingsβ¦
08.09.2025 12:49 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Why is it important to allow for more housing, especially multi-family housing, to be built in your town? Well part of it is to save democracy, and unfortunately that isnβt hyperbole or βpartisanβ to say right now.

We shouldnβt be measuring the value of spaces by how fast we can drive through them, but how safe and enjoyable it is to exist in them. Equity is making sure we are focused on creating safe and enjoyable places throughout our entire municipality and not just making them available to some.
06.09.2025 17:49 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0So instead of putting effort into complaining about progress, perhaps some effort could be put into making sure we are making our own community as accessible to the widest variety of people as possible.
06.09.2025 17:49 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Beyond race and income, think about how someone with mobility issues could potentially get around Swampscott, a town that is merely 3 sq miles big without a car by assessing our multi-modal landscape (or lack there of). Hint: itβs rather difficult.
06.09.2025 17:49 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0As this article points out, the issue of pedestrian infrastructure and gentrification isnβt that they arenβt helpful for the local population, they certainly are; itβs that cities and towns often neglect other areas that could also use those improvements.
