They’re organizing white people around the globe to further the narrative that white people are under attack in the US and globally. One of the most important contributions white people who care about justice can be making is out-organizing them in our own communities.

It’s no coincidence that some of the most powerful MAGA, techno-authoritarian billionaires have roots in South Africa. Elon Musk grew up there after his family was DRAWN TO APARTHEID as an appealing form of government and lifestyle. Peter Thiel’s ideology is deeply shaped by pro-apartheid logic.

This is happening in the midst of the US shutting down and dramatically reducing refugee and asylum projects from countries across the world, and as the US government is violently arresting and deporting asylum seekers currently living in the US.

White Afrikaners have a long, anti-Black legacy in the region with many continuing to oppose the Black-led ANC and other pro-democracy and pro-racial justice movements in the country. Despite being only 7% of the population, white Afrikaners own over half the land in South Africa.

Today, Afrikaners (white South Africans) are arriving in the US because Trump signed an Executive Order granting them refugee status on the basis of “anti-white discrimination.”
