Who said they expect to compete this year? I've not heard them say that. Common sense says this team is building towards 2027-28 while trying to do as well as possible in the meantime.

Not to mention that MODOT is obligated to do something within a certain timeframe. If they don't, they will just throw down some fresh pavement and leave the area with no meaningful improvements for another few decades.

It is City vs County because you are prioritizing the convenience of your county customer over local residents.

There will never be a 'good' time to do it. So residents of the area will be left waiting for years and years while business interests push back on infrastructure improvements.

There is a reason MODOT spent last several years rebuilding and beefing up the Jefferson Ave interchange. A 5 min detour for those sensible enough to not just wait for Grand.

This is safety of our families we are talking about. I don't give a shit if a west county couple is delay a few more minutes racing home from the Fox.
