Google's been doing this for years. I searched for a phone number for my internet provider and the first result was a Google ad I didn't realize and it sent me to a scammer. I realize what was happening and was able to get out without damage but Google doesn't care - scammers send them money.

I suppose that makes sense if the AI we're talking about actually shares the source along with the information it scrapes. In my experience that is rare.
