No way. Fraud can be so obviousβ¦
28.09.2024 17:30 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 2 π 0Two new chapters from my free online book in human genetics out this weekend!
These complete Part 3 of the book, on human population structure and history:
3.3: Inferring human prehistory from genetic data [this thread]
3.4: Ancient DNA [next thread]

Women have been complaining that doctors don't warn them how much an IUD insertion can hurt β or offer pain relief. Now the CDC is recommending that doctors do more to help.
29.08.2024 17:19 β π 239 π 49 π¬ 19 π 27How does a tarantula perceive its world? How does it know where its burrow is when it can't see? Does it create 3d images in its head using ground vibrations? Or is it some kind chemisensory similar to ants?
30.08.2024 05:01 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 1Invasive weeds are a problem. Could a species specific virus be engineered to eradicate local populations by being transmitted by local pollinators? The idea would be to prevent the virus escaping outside the range of the local pollinator and impacting the weed in its native habitat.
02.07.2023 16:42 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Farming would be so much easier if we genetically modified the weeds that grew well there to also be tasty and nutritious
15.05.2023 04:59 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Do organisms that live in water have better immune systems than those on land?
04.05.2023 22:10 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0How do you explain what a cell is and that our body is made of cells to a kid? Thats like telling them we are made of billions of tiny nanobots and that our thoughts are really just nanobots chatting with eachother.
29.04.2023 15:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 1yet in advanced human society we have magic rocks that allow instant communication and have medicine that can change our very dna. There are even goups of humans who are on verge of creating artificial intelligence that could potentially change some of humanity beyond recognition.
28.04.2023 17:18 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Sometimes i wonder if technology is creating a similar divergence in humanity. There are groups of people alive today who have never seen themselves in a mirror or heard human voices from a speaker.
28.04.2023 17:15 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It is surreal to think there are "living fossils" alive today. Organisms that havent changed much in hundreds of millions of years while their closest relatives have changed beyond recognition.
28.04.2023 17:14 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Science shouldnt require such a sacrifice. The foundation of our society and civilization is built on science, yet we still ask those who choose to do science to give up so much. It is essentially a modern priesthood.
