This is a 2026-27 problem. All 3 of the main guards are getting 30MPG this year regardless. Jrue is less in the way and a better vet than Simons- just a win all around. No reason to change it up just yet.

A lot of people seem to think that the Blazers are still actively tanking. They're not (although despite recent GM comments I'm quite certain they know they're not anything like a contender yet.)

Bron had a big box score, but also 11 turnovers in this one. Most of that was Toumani- this was a fun one to watch for sure.

The best out of those most used lineups is gonna be only a little worse on offense and even crueler on defense. Also, it really illustrates why Ayton is gone. Sheesh.

They had tons of chances to do so last year, and didn’t. They will this year too. And if they earn it, great! But day 1 I doubt either of them start 🤷‍♂️

Dude’s a beast. A huge part of that run last year was down to him and Clingan locking down the paint if they got past Toumani. Now add a Thybulle and a Holiday in.

I think they can have a top 5 defense if dudes are healthy but that’s also a huge if.

I think a lot of fans want Scoot/Shaedon in the starting lineup - and they’re going to inevitably be pissy when Jerami gets the nod instead. (And frankly having 4 reliable shooters starting is more important to winning than having 2 guards)

If Timelord is healthy don’t be shocked if he starts too.

Basically I expect 2 or more of Mavs, Warriors, Lakers, Clippers to take a huge step back this year. I also expect the Suns to be worse. So it’s more competitive, sure- but also a whole lot of teams are gonna age out in the next season or two.

I don’t even know what to make of it. The Blazers are basically Orlando Magic West next year, but with actual point guards. At worst, everyone will HATE playing them.

I can see the concerns with the guard logjam and Jerami/Jrue's contract. All they really need to do is move one for a shorter deal though and it all makes sense again capwise. MPJ, maybe, dunno.

I think their record is gonna heavily depend on how much they lean into the young guys next year- they have the players to be a top 10, maybe even 5 defense. If Matisse and Rob are catching DNP-CDs it’s lottery city though.
