Also if you can run a tor node then do. This is definitely more advanced and requires a spare device but anything to speed the network up would be amazing

It's not that scary, promise. You can stay entirely on the same web pages you visit anyway (except for a few that block tor exit nodes but that isn't many) and it's entirely legal and won't ever become illegal because law enforcement requires it to stay legal and open for their own anonymity
