Due Process is in the Constitution. So is Checks and Balances. But it takes the voice of the people to protect the Constitution. And the voice of the people will only be heard if our elections are fair and accurate. samuellane.org

I intend to consolidate and simplify the state paperwork/taxation as much as possible, but what businesses REALLY need is for us to take a pass on the big guys and shop local.

Border Czar Tom Homan is upset that ICEβs raids in Chicago arenβt as bad as they could be, because many people know their rights.
Attend an upcoming Know Your Rights trainings so you know how to respond to ICE in the KC area.

Why bother having sex listed on a passport?
I had assumed it was about identifying you less ambiguously. But if there's a whole category of people who don't visually conform to gender norms, then it doesn't serve that function. So why?

Leaders with no humility can't stand to admit when they're wrong. And elected officials who won't admit when they're wrong....
We've seen where that goes.
Random thought.
One weird flaw in the political system is that it pre-selects for people with no humility. When you run for office, you start by convincing yourself you're the best possible person for the job. Most of campaigning is trying to convince everyone else of the same.
Another trick to be on the lookout for in the future. We need to be ever vigilant against novel approaches to voter suppression.

Make time to vote. Remember some counties close the ballots at 5 instead of 7 (something I want to change).
Make a plan for whom you're voting for.

I agree with (current) Sec. Schwab that, if you use a mail-in ballot, you should deliver it to a drop box rather than trust the post office to get it in on time.

#HaysKS was a long trip, but worth it. I saw a lot of positive response. In the past politicians, especially Democrats, tended to forget about Kansas having a whole western half. That's not true anymore.

So you do everything you can to go to war with the population of your own country, then want the world to celebrate you as a peacemaker.
Weird priorities, bro.
If you use mail-in ballots, please fill them out and mail them as soon as you get them. When you factor in how long the mail will likely take, you have a very narrow window to get them in before the deadline.

I never read Hegseth's book, but if a pissy speech is how he ends his "war on warriors", then I'm guessing it's a collection of personal grudges against top brass he's been nursing since his own time in the service.
