Also picked up Emberleaf today. I didn’t back the Kickstarter because it seemed to be about area control, but it’s actually a crunchy engine builder. #boardgames

Kuiperium with a side of cat

I’d never heard of Kuiperium before I saw it in the store today, but it’s a neat race game. Play cards for benefits, but your opponent places workers on them to get different benefits. A few issues (poor quality card stock, could use more cards), but overall very cool. #boardgames

Our Railroad Tiles collector’s edition showed up yesterday, so we tried out Countryside and Lakes. I like how easy it is to fold in each expansion, and Lakes at least is similar to Railroad Ink. Looking forward to trying the rest of the expansions. #boardgames

My partner backed that. We tried it once, thought it was meh, and then spent ages trying to sell it because no one had heard of it.

Tried out HUTAN at our FLGS. A little light and short for me to want to buy, but I’ll give it a go on BGA now that I know how to play. We did end up buying Mythwind and Chandigarh (which I forgot to take pics of). #boardgames

The thigh has been just a pinch most of the time. It sounded like people experienced worse side effects from the stomach, though everybody is different.

Where are you injecting? I couldn’t bring myself to do stomach, so I went with thigh.

Trying to set up the new Pirates of Maracaibo expansion, but the cats are helping.

Didn’t try the expansions yet, but the base game was fun. Very silly names on all the plants, and a lot of stealing from or messing with other players’ gardens.

Splurged and bought the Merchants Cove Mega Box at @recessgames.bsky.social without knowing anything about it. Tried out Oracle (roll & write) and Pastry Chef (Tzolk’in) today, and it’s really nifty how everything fits together, while being completely different ways to play. #boardgames

Cryptid

Picked up Cryptid in a math trade last month and finally got to play a few games. I wish I could get this to the table more often, but I mostly play 2P. #boardgames

I haven’t had any nausea/vomiting. At most it feels like I just had a COVID shot (sort mildly icky). The biggest thing is just how fast it cuts the food noise/snacking down to zero.

The constipation is no joke though, especially once you get past the starter dose. Daily fiber is your friend, and MiraLAX for the first few days after your dose is very helpful. I’ve seen a lot of similar reactions online.

The side effects will lesson with each week on the same dose. Other than the drowsiness I don’t really get averse to food, my interest just isn’t there.

I started Zepbound in March. I strongly recommend taking it at night. I took my first dose mid-afternoon and it kicks in after a few hours. I was 1) kind of put off by food when dinner came around and 2) very sleepy. Now I take it a few hours before bed.

Second new game was Bloomchasers. Gorgeous table presence, very easy to knock pieces off. Looking forward to trying with the birds and bees expansion. #boardgames

Deep Regrets

First up today was Deep Regrets. I really like the risk/reward mechanic, and I managed to win even with the most regrets. #boardgames

Those look identical to tickets in Maryland (kind of boring). At least Iowa’s tickets let you play PAC-MAN.

Kind of. You have to overlap cards in such a way that the line around the edge of the card stays constant. At the end, whoever has the most visible pips wins the games.

2 player Tacta

Picked up Tacta and Mistborn Deckbuilding yesterday. Both were fun. Looking forward to trying Tacta with more players. #boardgames
