Zubimendi looks brilliant. Confident he'll be a needle mover for us. Feel like the Sociedad tapes didn't do him justice. Their play style is so direct. His performances for Spain give a much better read on what he is.

I'm not reading heavily into preseason, but two things of note for me so far.

1) We're too happy to resort to crosses.

2) We need to play behind teams more. A few times today, Gyokeres made powerful runs into the channel that were ignored.

Few times in that half where Gyokeres made runs, but wasn't found. One clear one was a counter down left, however Lewis-Skelly didn't play it. Going to take time for team-mates to get on same wavelength and used to a striker that plays like this.

Nwaneri and Norgaard the standouts so far.

I've liked Norgaard here.

Fwiw. I think he'll do well there. If he cleans up his finishing even slightly, he's a 15pl goal a season striker quite comfortably.
