Looking back at the entire Hurts/Sirianni era, the #Eagles have always been slower than almost all other teams at snapping the ball, but through 5 games, this 2025 version is an extreme outlier from all of the other 159 team-seasons in this period.

#Eagles continue to struggle against 4-man exchange pressures. On 3rd & 13, Saquon stays in to block rather than release as a checkdown, but it's only a 4-man rush (with an exotic spin to Cover 2 behind it).
Denver hadn't run a single 4-man exchange all year before this game.
Just 2 plays later: he just doesn't do it when everyone is clearly expecting him to, resulting in a false start. (2/2)

Playing with twins (2 WRs) to one side and a double nub (both TEs in-line) on the other worked early for the #Eagles. Denver was playing man on the WR side and trying to zone the other side, leaving Calcaterra in particular wide open at times. Eagles abandoned this approach later

After a heavy dose of man coverage in the 1st half, Vance Joseph called zone coverages on 13 straight #Eagles dropbacks in the 2nd half and did not give up a single first down during that stretch.
Consistently getting to the line and snapping the ball late was a talking point all week, and yet there was a key 3rd down sack and the massive 4th down illegal shift penalty which both seemed to be caused by slow procedure.

Haha yes the team has been ranked 30th-32nd in like 10 different tendency stats in all of the past few years.
To be fair, he never said that he was a wise man. He's just saying that a wise man avoids all extremes and it's up to you what to infer from that fact.
The #Eagles had some issues facing a heavy dose of 4-man exchange ("sim") pressures in each of the last 3 games.
FWIW, the Broncos' defense has not run a single such exchange pressure this season--one of just four defenses in the NFL to not have run one through 4 weeks.
FWIW, Eagles have kept the RB in to block much more this year than in the past, and not only against blitzes. And that’s even though these 5 in route numbers count check releases as routes:

6th in points/drive (2.84)
Obviously a very efficient use of yards and first downs, but probably not sustainable...
We've talked a lot about how the #Eagles don't throw deep, but the biggest change/issue with the passing game this year is the lack of YAC.

Cooper DeJean is ridiculous.
Tampa Bay runs a flea flicker max protect post/cross against a 2-high zone. Cooper first carries the post to the safeties, then comes back to nearly pick off the cross--thereby somehow covering both routes on a 2-route concept.
