Is it just the tough schedule? We will begin to see in the next few weeks, against bad defenses.

On the topic of crossers vs. hitches...guess which of these red zone plays is the Lions' 4th & goal play and which is the #Eagles 3rd & 8 from the 9...

#Eagles were always likely to regress towards some sort of normalcy by either moving right (fewer 3 & outs) or down (fewer touchdowns) on this graph.

Unfortunately, the movement since the bye has basically just been straight down.

So Patullo probably wants to block 7 big guys with 7 big guys of his own on runs (now that they are running less zone read to not have to block the 7th guy)...but to me this seemed like yet another example of letting the defense dictate your identity...or lack of one.

Here is every team since 2021 with crossers on the other axis (to provide a stylistic contrast to hitches).

The last two #Eagles offensive performances have reset the boundaries of this graph...in the wrong directions.

The last time the #Eagles scored 26 or fewer points over two games and won them both was 28 years ago: Weeks 8 and 9 in 1997.

Mine is just 3 and punts per drive excluding end of half kneel down type drives. Theirs probably includes all drives without a first down including turnovers which could be putting some teams below the Eagles who don’t have those quick turnover drives.

Jared Goff is in his 10th NFL season--all in the NFC--and yet tonight will be the first time he has played at the Linc in front of actual fans. (He started and won for the Rams against the #Eagles in Week 2 of 2020 in an empty stadium.)

Lions normally play a lot of man coverage, but as usual Jalen Hurts has been better against man than zone. Look for Kelvin Sheppard to disguise zone coverages & drop 8 in coverage: Lions play 3-3-nickel on pass downs and drop 8 on a wildly high 18%(!!) of all opponent dropbacks.
