Five years ago today, we authored the Great Barrington Declaration, arguing for focused protection instead of lockdowns. A wholehearted thank you to the almost one million co-signers. We were proven right.

The Great Barrington Dec. aka the “let covid rip” policy, legitimated the death of over a million Americans, is disabling of tens of millions more, & failed to achieve its own instrumental goal, ending the pandemic. It did succeed hwvr in gutting public health & eroding public trust in science

I tell myself denial - and the rage when it's poked at - may be able to get the better of anyone. But still, like you, I can't help thinking that one would have to be a person that barely uses the human ability to selv-reflect to not ask yourself: "Why did I get so angry because she told me that?"

Oh I tried that: A man I met at the grocery store asked me if I were sick, I said "no, I mask because I don't want to get sick". He got angry and asked if I thougt he was sick. I said: "Well, half of covid infections are asymptomatic, so you actually don't know if you're sick". He nearly punched me.

Yep, here in Denmark the expression "Lone Masker" is to be taken very literally. And the last ones I would ever except to wear even a baggy blue, let alone a respirator, to protect their patients (and themselves) from SARS-CoV-2 in this super disinformed country, would actually be healthcare staff.

At my rutine mammography today, I was the only one masking. Including staff.

But all the other patients almost ran over to use the hygiene sanitizers the second they saw my respirator 🤣 Hand sanitizers on all tables, to make people feel safe. The only one anyway near to actually being safe? Me.

One of the stories that resonated - "I was able to venture out for an ice cream cone with a friend this day. I don't feel comfortable eating in restaurants or going to bars like most people my age. Spring and summer are nice beaches they give me more options to spend time outdoors with fewer people around - which means I get to see the people I love more often. It’s hard to make friends as adults and even harder if you’re truly living out leftist, antifascist values by wearing an n95 in public.

But I just made two new friends by semi-shouting, “Look at these masked baddies!!” at two strangers across the street while we were all wearing 3M auras.

Never seen another 3M Aura than my own in the wild here in super disinformed Denmark, actually only seen one other person wearing a respirator at all in the hole pandemic,so if I ever saw anyone wearing an Aura, I would sure as hell shout out to them. Hell, I think I would be dancing in excitement.

I haven't seen one single study that shows it's harmless to keep getting Covid again & again. But there are thousands of peer-reviewed studies that document long-term harms
